On the 17-19 August 2021 Northern Zone Mental Health & Psycho-social Support Forum (MHPSS) was held at Mahalapye Community Hall by the DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL PROTECTION-DSP, under the MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT & RURAL DEVELOPMENT in collaboration with MAHALAPYE SUB DISTRICT COUNCIL, MARANG CHILDCARE NETWORK TRUST (MCCNT), PROJECT CONCERN BOTSWANA (PCI) and REGIONAL PSYCHOSOCIAL  SUPPORT INITIATIVE(REPSSI) to discuss, present how COVID 19 has affected children. It enabled  children and the community to learn from each other on issues and challenges faced by different communities as a results of the COVID 19 Pandamic and how they managed to deal with them. More importantly it was the perfect platform for them to express their views and bring forward issues they thought should be addressed by the Government for their benefit. Therefore it enabled active participation in matters of policy formulation and issues that promote child survival, development and protection.
